Buying a mattress is something we rarely think about/dwell on/plan for until a critical situation occurs. The above New York Times article lists eight “Don’ts” when mattress shopping.

Because we think going home to your bed every night to reap the benefits of a good night’s sleep is priceless…here’s a positive approach to a fruitful mattress shopping experience.

Set aside a mattress shopping day when you have time that is not impacted by immediate need.  Leave urgency out of the equation.  Even if you don’t think you need a new mattress today, instead of an afternoon of sight seeing, museum visiting or movie viewing, go mattress shopping!!

This relaxed approach will help inform you when you are ready to buy.  Take the time to learn what you need to know.  Visit several showrooms asking sales associates to help assess your needs; discover what mattress will meet your needs.

Ask your friends what mattress they are in love with. What can they tell you about their mattress and their mattress shopping experience?  Let them know you’re off to an afternoon of mattress shopping before you even need a new one.

And, just perhaps, you’ll find a divine comfort that you can’t sleep without!  But what a fun way to discover comfort leisurely!
