IMPORTANCE OF THE PILLOW
Good posture is as important when sleeping as it is when sitting or standing.
The right pillow not only helps support your head and neck it also keeps your spine aligned.
CHOOSE A PILLOW BASED ON SLEEP POSITION
Choose a pillow sufficiently firm to support you head and the natural curve of your neck and shoulder. We recommend the McRoskey MEDIUM down pillow, wool pillow or down-alternative pillow.
Choose a pillow firm enough to keep your head aligned with your spine comfortably filling the space between your head and your mattress. We recommend the either the McRoskey FIRM down (wide shoulders) or MEDIUM down (narrow shoulders) pillow, the wool pillow or the Dr. Mary Side Sleeper.
Choose a pillow that will compress, keeping your head and neck aligned. We recommend the McRoskey SOFT down pillow.

CARING FOR YOUR PILLOW
Whether or not your pillow is down, down alternative or wool, follow these care tips:

- For a cool sleep, use an all cotton pillow case and pillow protector.
- You sleep with your pillow every night: wash your pillow case and protector weekly
Follow these washing instructions for our down or down alternative pillows:
Wash with a small amount of mild powder detergent or a product designed to launder down, on warm and delicate. A liquid detergent that is not completely rinsed out will leave sticky residue and this causes clumping. Massage the pillow in the detergent solution if you can, to ensure that the down is wetted throughout . It’s crucial to get the pillow completely dry—otherwise you risk mildew. Use the no-heat air-dry setting (it will take a while) and use dryer/tennis balls to break up any clumps.
WHEN TO REPLACE YOUR PILLOW
Because you sleep with your pillow every night, evaluate your pillow once a year. Replace your pillow every two to three years.
