McRoskey San Francisco, a San Francisco Heritage Brand since 1899, continues as a customer-focused retail business at its San Francisco, Palo Alto and San Rafael showrooms and on-line.
The news is manufacturing has been acquired by Pleasant Mattress, another 3rd generation family business, located in Fresno, California. The excitement is the brand is now in the best position to continue the legacy and to expand.
McRoskey San Francisco announced today that they will be partnering with the San Rafael Chamber to officially commemorate the grand opening of their newest brick and mortar retail location. The celebration is set for May 22nd, 2018 at 5pm at the San Rafael showroom.
As a venerable manufacturer of premium mattresses and box springs in the Western United States, McRoskey San Francisco has constantly striven for improvement in their operations with a focus on customer comfort. With a 25,000 square foot manufacturing facility and significant equipment & labor investments over the past century, the company was eager to modernize operations but not lose the artisan quality craftsmanship of its products. The company chose Atollogy, a leading Smart Manufacturing platform for manufacturers, as its partner to seamlessly blend its traditional manufacturing processes with Atollogy’s data collection and feedback solution.
When you enter one of downtown San Rafael’s newest pop-up showrooms, McRoskey Mattress Co.’s nearly 120-year history is apparent.
The brick walls feature posters of hand craftsmanship and staffers explain how their products are made. For a San Francisco company like McRoskey, the pop-up concept proved to be a bold step and a chance to try new things.
“Community is important to us and San Rafael is such a welcoming place,” said CEO Robin McRoskey Azevedo. “We’ve made connections through walk-ins, as well as being more convenient to our long-time Marin, Sonoma and Napa customers. We’ve learned that many people don’t like to travel to San Francisco if they can find what they need here. Reducing the barriers for current and potential customers informed our recent decision to negotiate a longer lease.”
Selling direct to consumer has been a successful formula for CEO Robin McRoskey Azevedo, who carries on the family’s century-old traditions.
For nearly 120 years, the McRoskey San Francisco has been a part of San Francisco’s manufacturing community. Now guided by the granddaughter of the company’s founder, Leonard McRoskey, it continues to manufacture and sell its premium quality mattresses and box springs to a loyal and ever-expanding customer base in the Bay Area.
